Jesse Raymond Glover was Bruce Lee’s first student and first assistant instructor in the United States. He met Lee in 1959 at Edison High School and taught Lee judo.
Jesse Glover started a Gungfu class, Leroy Garcia and James DeMile came and assisted him, which was the first ever independent Jun Fan arts related class. Jesse Glover was the first authorized martial arts instructor to be trained by Bruce Lee. He has developed his own method which he calls Non-Classical GungFu.

James DeMile Bruce Lee the Streetfighter

In 1959, James W. DeMile began his martial arts career in Seattle, Washington, under the direction of the legendary Bruce Lee. As one of Bruce’s first generation students, Mr.DeMile had the opportunity of assisting Bruce in developing his unique fighting skills. It was also DeMile’s privilege to appear in Bruce’s only book, "The Philosophical Art of Self Defense". DeMile was an undefeated heavyweight boxer in the Air Force as well as "Masters Level" hand to hand combat instructor for the (Special Forces Combative’s) program at Fort Lewis in 1985 and 1986.
One of the foremost authorities on modern Wing Chun, DeMile has adapted Bruce’s modification of the ancient art of Wing Chun and created WING CHUN DO, a practical self defense system for the 1990’s student. DeMile is listed in Bob Wall’s Who’s Who in the Martial Arts, The Genealogy of the Ving Tsun (Wing Chun) Family by the Ving Tsun Athletic Association, The Original Martial Arts Encyclopedia by John Corcoran and Emil Farkas, Bruce Lee’s Fighting Spirit by Bruce Thomas. He has also written many articles for national and international magazines. He has appeared in the movies, Weapons of Death and The Curse of the Dragon and twice on the national TV program Entertainment Tonight. He has written four best selling martial arts books as well as produced a number of training videos, including "Bruce Lee’s one and Three Inch Floating Punch", one of the most devastating strikes in the martial arts. He has designed and built a number of specialized electronic training devices as well as some versatile spring loaded wooden dummies. DeMile travels extensively throughout the world teaching his dynamic self defense concepts and techniques to students, police and the military. He specializes in accelerated self defense programs for individuals 40 years old or older. His most famous student for learning the incredible One and Three Inch Floating Punch is 80 year old Professor Wally Jay, creator of Small Circle Jujitsu. DeMile is still an active Deputy Sheriff with the Ottawa County, Ohio, Sheriff’s Department until 2005.

In Hong Kong, the team meet Grand Master Ip Chun who still teaches his father’s Wing Chun system, the very same system that formed the basis of Bruce Lee’s fighting skills. A special clip from the August Productions/ BBC series that looked at the myths and reality in martial arts showcasing various forms, secret skills, ancient knowledge, and hidden techniques from all over the East. Screened by the BBC across the UK and also on Discovery channels across Europe, Middle East and Africa and as Mind, Body & Kickin Moves on FSN, the Fox Sports Network, across the United States. Guro Dan Inosanto discusses the early days with Bruce Lee, what training was like and how the school was established, and how he heard of his unfortunate death.
Inosanto teaches The Art and Philosophy of Jeet Kune Do, Filipino Martial Arts, Shoot Wrestling, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, Silat, Mixed Martial Arts and other arts at his Marina del Rey, California school, the Inosanto Academy of Martial Arts. He was an instructor for Ed Parker in American Kenpo Karate before becoming a student of Bruce Lee. Inosanto is one of three people allowed by Bruce Lee to teach his Martial Arts style, and the only one to be given Instructorship in Bruce Lee’s Jeet Kune Do. Inosanto also studied with dozens of martial art masters elsewhere in the United States, Southeast Asia, and Europe. After Bruce Lee’s death, he has become the principal spokesperson for Jeet Kune Do. He has had minor roles in a number of movies, including the Game of Death (1973).
Always a student himself, he continues to train with many highly regarded martial artists. Consequently, he holds Instructor or Black Belt level ranks in numerous, different martial arts. In addition, he is well known for promoting the Filipino Martial Arts. He is responsible for bringing several obscure forms of the Filipino Martial Arts into the public eye and saving them from extinction. He has recently acquired his black belt in the Machado Family style of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Richard Bustillo interview. Sifu Bustillo talks about his martial arts roots from the first days in Hawaii learning judo to kajukenbo, Ed Parker and then seeing Bruce Lee in 1 Inch action.
Internationally recognized as an expert in the martial arts, Richard Bustillo is frequently sought after to conduct seminars throughout the world. Drawing from over 45 years of experience, Bustillo possesses a wealth of knowledge and a very unique and motivating teaching style. With a long list of accomplishments and credentials, Bustillo is a member of Black Belt’s 1989 Hall of Fame – Co-Instructor of the Year, an inductee to the World Martial Arts Hall of Fame, Martialinfo.com 2001 Hall of Fame, and United States Martial Arts 2002 Hall of Fame. Richard Bustillo is a certified law enforcement defensive tactics instructor and a member of the American Society of Law Enforcement trainers. He is also certified with the Olympic Training Center as a coach and official with USA Boxing, and a Kru in Muay Thai. Credited as being one of the major contributors to revive the Filipino Martial art of Kali/Eskrima/Arnis, Bustillo is recognized by the Council o Grandmasters of the Philippines as Ninth degree Black Belt (Grandmaster) in Doce Pares Eskrima. However, he is best known for his training under Bruce Lee and Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do.
